Have you ever bought a roof, siding or windows from those companies that hustle door to door or the internet?

You know

The guys that sell you the “best” product and “their” team who is certified to install it

They said the install team is usually seasonal Labor from South America

Sounds like they are selling me a building product then leaving me at the mercy of the subcontractor

If you’ve ever bought from one of these companies and have an experience let me know

They seem like a bunch of salesmen and not too serious standing behind about the work. They did 80 million last year so maybe I’m wrong ?

I try to use local everything businesses. But that is a network of people that l have used for years. Ask around hardware, local lumber and framing builders. Ask for references and go look at their work.
For instance, l used a independent lumber yard to find my windows after several try’s. Turned out great. l don’t like company’s that outsource to some locals. Like Lowe’s or home depot that have their subs. Stay with the ones that are busy and can’t get to you tomorrow. Good luck!

We bought a carport , we bought it local and had to wait quite a while on it to be delivered , the whole crew was Mexican and I think only one guy spoke English but they did a fantastic job and it was done very quickly.

Don't use any large corp business with salesman. Call around and get local pricing from a contractor with there own crew.
My exwife want us to get carpet from some place that advertises on TV. They had salesman there that day than tried to sell me everything with super high pressure sales tactics. I wound up getting it for almost 1/2 the price from local carpet store that had there own crew.

I took a deep dive and I can’t believe what I learned.

It was crazy high pressure sales. Worse than the guy selling an 8ball in Miami from the gas station.

Turns out the sales agent only gets paid if I buy on the first meeting…commission only. Then it went to a sales “closer” because I didn’t buy on first meeting…closer guy was wildly out of bounds. His plan was to essentially be the guy who “knows” how these things work and scare me into buying

They sell you the project and subcontract it out. When I called him out on that he told me his teams are the best and they never have any issues. I asked if I do have an issue, then what? Apparently they don’t have any but if somehow they did have an issue it’s been me and their subcontractor.

They have no one who actually supervises the work.

It’s literally a used car salesman model selling me construction work.

This company does 80 million a year and has Construction in their name lol

I’m not completely stupid, I can’t believe folks fall for this type of high pressure aggressive behavior. I’d rather burn 5-6 figures than give it to a business run like a car lot. If we all subscribed to that stupid sales logic, nothing would happen except fiefdom.

I didn’t even plan on buying poop till these assholes pointed it out, now I’m gonna have someone else fix it and like you said…I’ll get better for a fair price from a small local guy lol
