Super Jet Having hard time getting my steering right...

Rode my ski the last couple days, I thought I had it close before going out friday, but it barely turns left and will turn right super hard! So I rode it couple hours whatever, made some more adjustments saturday morning, took it out saturday, still the same. I tried adjusting both ends of the steering cable, at the turnplate and steering nozzle. How do I get this right? I would disconnect my cable at the turnplate then set my steering nozzle straight and then make sure my bars were straight then adjust to correct length. Its not very fun riding it like this...

It sounds like your nozzle is pushed back further than normal and therefore beyond the effective reach of the stock cable. That or your steering cable isn't locked in place in the pole. If neither of those are true, are you using a funky pole, trim system, or steering nozzle?

I forgot!
when setting up a steering system unhook the steer nozzle and spend some time setting up the turn plate first. you want to be able to use all the throw the cable can give without strech or binding. i turned my stop nut 90 degrees and have the cable hooked to the outter most setting on the plate. This gives me complete throw with less movement at the bars. i even used myh dremel with a cut off blade and modded the sleeve so my cable did not bottom out. i know, anal. once you have your bars turning lock to lock then you can center the steer nozzle. i have a extender for my steer nozzle because my cable was to short with my ATP nozzle and my Blowsion reduction nozzle without trim. i try out alot of peoples skis and one thing i always hate is non quick steer and loose poles. i cannot stress enough about how important these two simple cheap mods are for a freestyle ski. take your time, figure it out and you will be very happy your ski can turn faster than you can think.

Did you put a new cable on? I have seen this happen when people put the cable on backwards. Just a long shot option to look at if its a newly installed cable.

At first it was hard to reach, I have the jetmaniac quick steer nozzle where the cable connects further back right next to the nozzle, so I just went back to the normal hole on saturday. Cable is locked into pole.

I have it going lock to lock, the steering nozzle looks like it turns just as much left as right, but for some reason when I get it in the water it just doesnt want to turn left very much which doesnt make any sense. I'll tinker with it some more tomorrow and im sure I will figure it out.

Do you have X-metal adjustable steering? When it gets wet it can slide around, but when it's dry it's snug.

A broken cable wouldn't turn right but would turn left so that can't be it. Check the bolts holding your steering nozzle onto the reduction nozzle. If you are missing one or if the bushings are gone, that will explain it. If not, hold the nozzle with your hand while you try to turn the bars. This will offer resistance on the nozzle like water would and maybe it'll help you figure out what's going on.

I had this same issue on my ski. Make sure the cable is attached to the pole up top, i.e. make sure its locked/clamped down.

I figured this out by steering left and turning around and looking at my nozzle (I can see mine) but you will be able to look at the jet stream and tell if its turning.

Ive got a ski doing something similar. Except the nozzle is definitely not turning to the left as much as to the right. Im guessing its goint to end up being further adjustment needed.
