Hey all,
So I’ve struggled quite a bit figuring out how to make a good setup wake with my RCW Havoc. I’ve spent several nights just practicing setup wakes, and I’ve improved a lot but it seems this boat just makes small setup wakes. Is there some magic I’m missing with this hull?

So far, the best I can get is by essentially making a V while holding trim and going fast enough to keep the nose down. Then I blast straight out and spin back and wait for the waves to connect. Going slower generally makes a smaller wake. I’ve tried a U shape but it is rarely successful. I’ve also tried more of a horseshoe shape. That sometimes works but generally only the second wave is big enough to use at all.

Thanks for the tips!

The method i found best for me is a “U” shape. It all comes down to timing. You can be making a “U” wake but if it’s too big or too small, it won’t work. Try making them in different sizes and settle in on what makes the biggest wake. Try “blipping” your throttle with the trim pulled while making the setup wake as well. The nose of the ski doesn’t have to be on plain like you stated.

Slow down, make a left or right turn about 45 degrees, extend out, turn back 180. your wake will be in front of you. A "V" wake is to centralized (small peak area), The "U" if to close together can interfere with itself. Doing a 45 degree turn, there is no interference and you have a good solid wake to hit.

Thanks for the tips everyone. That video helped immensely. I guess I’ve had the most success with the “jack wake” but the video helped me dial it In. Went out last night and practiced again lol. I still can’t make the U wake work very well but I’ll keep practicing.
