Hawaii Riders?

I recently got a job in Hawaii (Oahu), i'm moving out there in August. I'm from Minneapolis so I've been used to the large skiing community in this area.

I'm wondering, is it worth to take my ski out there??? (2008 Super jet) Is there a jet ski community too?

Because i'm more of a social skier and I usually never have a drive/enjoyment to ski by myself.

I should be able to get the ski shipped out for free, so I might as well! I'm just wondering.

I’m honestly going to miss the St Croix, Won’t miss this winter tho!! Ive never been out there before, so it definitely will be a culture shock lol.

I had the chance to transfer to hawaii, but there is zero jet skiing there. So I didn't go. Do your research, but what I found was there is basically a 500' no jetski zone around every island. They have bouy'd off circles way off shore you can ride directly out to, ride around, and then ride back to shore in a few places around the islands.

No fresh water allows 2 strokes, and no riding anywhere that there will be waves. You can go play with sharks way out past the breaks but that's about it.

There was another thread on this a couple years ago. I think it came down to you being limited to a certain area away from the island.

You are correct, I should do some own research too!

But from what I’ve heard so far, I might just sell my ski. I’m not an absolute die hard rider. I can find other hobbies out there lol. No point to have My ski if it’s just going to be a pain to find places to ride (and safely too lol)
