Other Hawaii surfango

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask questions about my surfango. I picked it up today for a great price. Once I got home with it and try to start it . I notice than in front of the motor . Maybe the side crankcase cover ... Right where the oil dipstick is there is a big hole.. But there are threads. Like its missing a big plug. The hole looks to be around 1

I see there are a few people that lives by me on this site. So maybe that's a good thing

Any help will be great
