Super Jet HD steering cable/UMI pole

So I had this blowsion HD steering cable sitting around from the last rickter I sold..and figured I'd run it on my 06 SJ... But it seems too long. Like I need to cut some threads back or shorten heim ends, running an older umi pole, worked great on an RRP. I do need to open up hole at the keeper section. Any ideas..

Are you sure you don’t have it on backwards? The ends are different length

the long end always is on the pump side. I used to run umi poles on everything and you can use any cable if you drill the holes and mount the cable clamp where it needs to be. also extend the ends with splices if necessary.

Yes long side at pump... I'm using a cold fusion short plate which brings it closer to clamp... And pole is a minus 2 but shouldn't matter.. dunno this has me stumped! May need to trim thread ends. Also measures 127 in long and oem measures 122 in which also shouldn't matter...
Thought I was giving the ski some winter love but now frustrated

just use a dremel fitted with a cutting wheel and cut off 5 mm off each end rod and if needed cut off another few mm on the ball mount end pieces...should have more than enough thread left to adjust steering properly....had to do this mod more than a few times.

Yes, I ended up trimming.. modifiied pole cable mount area..got it in place! Have also done it for nozzel brackets for more Throw back in the day! This one threw me as it's a modern high priced cable using on a old school AM pole. I'm sure it will work ok!
