Help! jetski fills up with water.

Thanks guys! The community here is awesome!
I'm starting to notice my ski has been slightly pieced together. Half shotily at that. But with some banging parts!
I know it's a 701 twin carb. I can't remember what all the local guy told me about it. Whether it was 62t or 61x.. but has tao arrestors, pro tec dry pipe, dmp? Head, ocean pro steering nozzle, pro tec ride plate, bars, steering, etc etc...
I'll have to make a new post and post some pictures. So you guys can kind of run me through what all I have Goin on under the hood.

Yes, fill your engine bay with just a 3"-4" of water. Do not fill you motor with water. lol

wait... I shouldn't have filled the engine with water??? Bahahaha!!

Ouch man. I have a slight bit more sense than that! ;)

I just wasn't sure if you meant dip the ski under from the back side, or fill the bay and see if it leaks. I don't have a trailer or anything, so the former isn't possible for me, kind of. Lol

I knew you had more sense than that, I was just busting on ya. :)

You can do it either way and get the same results.

So, after taking a look under the hood, and reaching under the engine itself, I found a piece of fiberglass patch about 6" x 10". It had some brownish compound on it, as well as a lot of white fiberglass stuff. I dunno if this is actually the culprit, didn't feel like it was ever really attached. I definitely need to do a couple mods, and re-glass, and paint it by next season!
I might have found a legit crack or hole between the engine and the fuel tank though. I need to build my cart and drag it out into the yard to test for holes though. How full can I fill the bay and still be safe? Shouldn't really need much fuller than the bottom couple inches of the engine bay should I?

Happy Birthday America!!! :)

Out of the water. The goal is to see it water leaks out of the engine bay throygh the shaft tube.
