Super Jet Help me quiet down my ATP waterbox... PLEASE!!

This box is just incredibly loud. My setup: 93 SN with a 61x.

Exhaust setup

B pipe with limited chamber
ATP waterbox
Flow control valve
2x90 hoses in an S shape, leading to a stock WRIII exhaust outlet elbow. Exhaust elbow has been ported.

I have tried adjusting the flow control valve. The side exit is SO LOUD I have a ringing in my hears after a hard ride.

I fear I'm pissing off the locals. Any tips to quiet the ATP box or ANY aftermarket box would be excellent. I'm ready to cut it apart and add some baffles.

thx

Do like Alex said. Take your pisser and tap your elbow of your front exhaust so it sprays out. And maybe a defector to direct the sound down to the water instead of straight out. Wouldn't hurt to try. Me and Randon where talking about this in the weekend. His ski was running quite loud and well then there is Alex's ski. .... We gotta figure something out for you guys.

I'm running an ss865 on a ski with front exhaust only, a b pipe dried out(top screw barely open), flow control valve wayy tight, and a stock RN waterbox. It's barely louder than rear exhaust. Get a stock RN box and be done with it. Aftermarket boxes don't add any more power anyhow.

I had a stock engine running a B pipe and stock waterbox, but side exhaust and rear. It was SOOOOO loud. I hated it. Sure, your waterbox doesn't help, but I'd start by getting rid of that side exit.

For comparison, my current setup with a PFP and NO waterbox is quieter than that SJ was.

Take out the flow control valve... If not i have a stock alum. one i would like to get a atp for my next build

Well Marc I will keep that in mind... I am going to try to make this one work as it is pretty and I love how light it is.

Thx guys I will try removing the flo control valve and also add another pisser at the outlet of the waterbox.

Over the winter I am going rear exhaust, that is for sure.

Bruceski - I got this box for $40 plus a stock round nose. I am still happy with the deal and it's a nice box, but I think I see why the previous owner got rid of it.

To the garage!!!

I was thinking about it and rereading these posts. Gonna cut my tray out tonight, fix my scupper and try a pump tunnel exit exhaust. I have that large WRIII exit, I can do something similar to a stock blaster setup.

I hate to add too much water to the pipe or waterbox...Plus I think the pump tunnel exit will quiet it down and maybe resonate a bit. Might be gnarly sounding.

take out the flow valve, you dont need it with the atp waterbox they dry out more than stock

but front exhaust will also increase the volume huge!
