SX/SXi/SXi Pro Help.... my ski is water logged and I need tips

My ski is without a doubt water logged, I bought it in the winter so testing was impossible than. The rails at the ass end are about 1-2 inches under the water line sitting still, The whole tray is under water too, it's like I'm on the boat but I'm not. I know I've got to cut out the floor and probably the walls but am crapping my pants at the thought of attempting this and messing it up good.

If anyone can throw me a bone here, DO'S and DO NOTS as far as what needs to be done, I'd be very grateful.

thanks folks.

Do you have footholds in your ski? If not than you probably have the stock foam which is real good stuff. Id start by drilling a couple holes at the bottom of the chimes on either side. Stay small like an 8mm or 5/16" hole, you can easily fill those or add a small drain plug. Next after you did that would be to see where the water is coming in from.

Hope you don't drill a hole in the hull expecting to drain, patch, and be good to go cause nothing will change. Closed cell 2part urethane (oem foam) will take on water when under pressure (the entire bottom half is under pressure just sitting in the water). Only way to truly fix it is to cut her open and defoam then either find, and fix leaks or cut/shape extruded styrene to fit. I've had several waterlogged hulls I've had to defoam, and do that to. I do suggest putting styrene in since it worked the best, and you need some support for the strength of the hull.

I packed the extruded styrene in the best I could then installed drain plugs in the back of the ski as well.

Just cut the ski open, you still have your original side pads so no HT to tear off and replace on there.. it should just be a weekend deal to seal it up..

I know that the steps to repair a waterlogged 750 properly are on here I just can not seem to find them. If anyone is aware of links to a project section I would appreciate it as I am going to fix mine on the off season.
