carbon brawler hull
oem 144 pump with a 10/16 hooker
scoop grate
701 62t
msd cdi
dual 38s
tnt laydown pipe

looking for a "reliable"... motor something to get me some nice height for flatwater but
still want to chase boats as well

i was thinking et967?

what will have to be changed in my current set up to make a motor like this work as it should

i would like to find a used compete motor with carbs to put in, but not opposed to keeping my bottom end

Can you still get et967's? I would go with a TPE stock stroke 900. Then whatever TPE says to do with it. Probably going to want a 148 or 155 pump as well.

JM781, reuse your 38mm carbs *shrug*

There’s a number of folks here who did lots of flatwater stuff with that motor before moving on to chase the next level. Not me, mind you, haha. Just reporting observations.

If going with the 781 I would upgrade to dual 46's and a zeel too.

Lots of info here on what the 781 is capable of:

You'll need a mag pump for sure. Unless you go OEM 155 which works well. I'd vote php 898, tpe900(4mil like php), or tpe964. I believe people have had good luck with tnt pipes on tpe motors.
I run a php898, rip combos on pump gas and chase boats with an oem 155 and it's a very reliable motor

can i keep my pump and carb set up with the jm781?

Ive personally ran a 781 and it made flatwater flips and spins a piece of cake. But I'm not sure the brawler is much of a freestyle hull.
you're right its not the best for that but it is what i have and i would like to start here i suppose. i can always upgrade hull down the road, what carbs did you have on it?

@Rushford_Ripper has a big bore LPW for a steal right now. Very little use in his back up ski which he has sold. The motor was able to flat water flip his fix steer Air Blair.

If youre wanting a PV motor. I've recently purchased a TPE 964 and had an amzing experience with Brian.

What are the prices of each and what do they include? I’m not partial to just a certain motor I’m new at this and all the help i can get is great to guide me my end goal

Here is the link for the LPW motor:

Brian @Proformance1 would be the guy to speak with on the options for the TPE motor.

Flatwater. I’ve only been riding a few years so I’m not going to spend 20 plus to do some flips and spins just yet. Until I get better
Can someone chime in on the brawler for a freestyle ski? I was always under the assumption it was a rec ski, not meant for flips or spins.
If you get a freestyle oriented hull you can flip, spin no problem with a 781, even a 701 with some practice. I landed my first FW flips with a 80 lb hull and a 701.

you cant really go wrong with any of the engine choices but please please please save your money and get some better carbs. the stock 38s work well on a mild 701 and will work on a big bore but youre leaving soo much power on the table with those carbs. yes you will have great bottom end and throttle response off idle which is good, but will fall flat just past the midrange. to accomplish what you want accomplish with flatwater flips, you will need more power up top to get the hull out of the water enough to complete the rotation. I have dual R series 44s on my lpw 735 and it pulls much better from the midrange up to max rpm with the 44s. you can run more timing and compression as well as a
looser pump which you will both need to squeeze the max power for flips to get the bottom end back. people mistake "bottom end" for how quickly the engine revs. also wouldnt hurt to possibly talk to tnt since you have his pipe to find out what setup it performs best with. you also will not go wrong with lpw.

That lpw sounds like it’s a great bang for the buck. I just have to make it down his way. Since it’s only local pick up. No shipping. Thanks for the input I’ll ask tnt about what they see most success in.
