Help on what ski to buy?

Hey all. New to the sport been looking at doing it for a few years now. I wanna buy a cheapish second hand ski ($2000-$3000) but not to sure what to get. I'm guessing you guys get this question all the time. But anyway a few that I came across on the net in my price range were early 90's kawasaki 550sx, 650sx and yamaha superjet 650's. Im pretty sure i will eventually head out into the surf and attempt jumps and stuff and have been told the superjet would be best for it. Any reccomendations?

Sorry for the stupid question but no one in my area rides jetskis.

"stop asking stupid questions and get a SuperJet!"
seriously, start out with a squarenose, great ski
even with a 650 it is fine for beginners, but with your budget you should be able to get a piped 701
the 650 is still a fine ski and upgrades are plentiful!

true here, but he is in Australia
out of the skis listed, SN 650 is the way to go

Hook up with the guys from Aussie (you didn't say where exactly you were from), I'm sure they can help you find a nice SN with a few goodies on it.
From then on, it's all down hill as you find new and shiny parts to bolt on.

BTW, welcome to the nut hut.
