Hey there all

FIrst up, great forum - I'm based in Aussie and have been looking for a good freeride forum!

I run an 08 SXR 800 and a '98 SXI 750 for the missus.

I'm starting to take them into the surf and would like to make my own limiting ropes and possibly hood straps if necessary?

Just wondering if anyone has any advice/pics on the best way to make my own straps/limiting rope? I scoped out the FAQ in the FAQ section, but was thinking there might be a simple, effective option for the SXR in particular?

just use ratchet straps to hold the hood down...one on each side...just screw them into your hull in the back and bolt them down to your pole bracket in the front.

just ziptie a bungee cord for the limiting rope.

Be sure to put in a bilge b4 hitting surf!

Here are the hood straps that I made. Just a couple of back pack straps from REI with latches and some Stainless mounting hardware. The straps mount on two front pole base mounting bolts. I think total cost was $10.
