Super Jet help please, replacing stock ignition

I am looking replacing the stock coil and ignition wires on a 91 squarenose.

Does the MSD replacement coil and wires directly replace the stock coil? The MSD does not have a CDI but the stock DOES have CDI built in. How does this work? Just plug and play?

MSD website calls for an ignition Enhancer to work with their coil, is this required?

thanks for the help, ignition stuff is new to me but learning.

Yes

Not exactly sure what you mean here. A CDI is kinda like the brain of the whole electrical system. You can either run a stock CDI or and MSD Enhancer ignition which replaces the stock CDI.

Yes the enhancer is pretty much just plug in play, as well as a replacement ignition coil/wires.

The MSD replacement coil is not required to run the MSD Enhancer Ignition. In fact it is pretty much a general consensus that the MSD coil is crap. It is better to replace the coil with either a brand new OEM coil, or a rebuilt coil.

wow MSD is not as good? in automotive they are

my spark plug caps are old and corroded, was thinking change all the coil and wires to performance, speed shop here can get that kit in for $88. or maybe just the caps? Anyone ever done that?

Is there a noticeable change when using just the MSD coil alone or with the ignition enhancer?

The msd coil is a stock replacement. The only difference you'll notice is that it won't work as long as a stocker. The enhancer is a decent upgrade, but it is not programmable. I would pay a little more and get an ATP Epic which is programmable. Much better upgrade.
