Signed, but Like mentioned, what’s happening to it ? I see some people comments are from 1 and 2 years ago in that petition, but I couldn’t find a proposal

As far as I know Body Beach is currently closed. I think they are circulating this petition to show the city and state trust the amount of people this will impact. There is more information on FB, the group is called "Body Beach Updates".

On April 3rd Arizona state land department close BB, due to recent fire, trash dumping and homeless people camping. Once the city cleans the area up and cut down the heavy brush to prevent future fires the state will reopen, but no set reopen date, BB is remaining open to foot traffic.... So homeless can camp out there peacefully without jetskiers around, trash the place and light fires.. makes no sense to me.

If it's open to foot traffic why not set up a couple volunteer days for all these people that want it open to pick up trash and clear brush to show the City that you care about it and want it to reopen. If their complaint is trash and brush causing the closure then help get rid of the reason for the closure.

If they are anything like Komifornia that is easier said then done. I tried to clean up the area next to my house and you have to give x amount of warning to the homeless before cleaning up and if the homeless dont leave or ask you not to touch there stuff (99% garbage and stolen building supplies) you have to leave it. Seriously one camp had old trash everywhere wet rotten cardboard, broken lawn chairs etc. Had to leave it. Luckily they where okay with us picking up the syringes..

The homeless will be a City issue for sure, I was just suggesting a clean up day like we do with motorcycle trail maintenance.

If only it was that easy, like cockroaches as soon as the fire is out they will come back.
