Help shipping a motor

Hey guys not sure if this is the right forum but I need help on shipping a motor.... how to pack it up etc. thank you !

I shipped them with the tote like the links above and also built little crates out of plywood and bolted the bedplates down to 2x4 runners. Have had luck with both. The plywood is definitely a safer bet if you have some laying around.

Last motor I shipped I went to Home Depot or Lowes and found a heavy duty Cardboard Shipping Box, Then I lined the inside with additional cardboard. Pack motor inside garbage bag or wrap in plastic, then fill all the voids with packed newspaper, peanuts or expanding foam (Hence, wrap motor up). Then place inside another box.

I had a motor shipped to me in one of these, saved it and just used it to ship again. Probably cheaper to make your own but it's an option. Still requires adding your own mounts to hold the motor inside.

I built a plywood box, put wood runners in bottom, trapping a ratchet strap, then screwed through bed plate holes into runners, using big wood screws and penny washers, wrapped ratchet strap over motor and tightened down

Wood works great but makes it heavy and is labor intensive to make. A well padded/packed carboard box within another well padded/packed cardboard box works great too. Pack it so that it can survive a 6 foot drop and always bolt up a flywheel cover to protect the cases no matter what.
