Super Jet HELP Starter button not working

I have a 04 SJ and something is wrong with the starter button. I recently traded skis and the guy said it has happened for a while. When I press the button it makes a click sound (not like its trying to start with the battery) and will keep doing it until it starts. I believe the starter may have water inside of it or the starter relay has gone bad. Please help and thanks!

Take the start stop switch apart, remove the start switch, take apart, there is a metal disk, clean it really good and also the 2 contacts. Most likely this will take care of it. if not, you may have a broken wire. start at the plug and start feeling and wiggling. It could also be in the harness that leads outside of the ebox, this is where your start stop switch connects to. The wires sometimes break at the rubber grommet.

O.k. First off. "not like it's trying to start with the battery". Um. How else would it start? Lunar eclipse?
Do you have a DMM? Have you checked the connections? What was the last prize you got from your cracker jacks?

How about a video, so I don't have to ask eight quadzillion questions.

Load test the battery. Clean all the terminals, from the battery to the solenoid, and ground terminal also. Use dielectric grease on all.
Have you tested voltage along the path? Can you jump the solenoid and make it crank? How about going direct to the starter with 12 volts?
And I quote, again, "(not like its trying to start with the battery)". That makes absolutely zero sense.

DO YOU HAVE A METER? How about a test light?

Had a few starter relays do this, the click came from inside the ebox. The low current side of the relay worked, "magnetic field built and pulled the high current contractor closed" (click sound) but fails to pass current across the contractor and down the starter cable to starter.

If it's the relay buy an OE relay., I had 3 bad new aftermarket ones from Atlantic jet sports

Um, guys? How about we stop guessing. Understood, cheap china crap is, well, crap. That aside, buy a meter and do some tests. It's easier than, well, clicking the like button. Added bonus? You'll fix your ski!

come on man! he said it clicks when he hits the button. that means the switch is working and the relay or starter isn't. its either the relay, wire between the relay and starter or starter. guaranteed! smh. simple diagnostic 101

Dont mind him, he is too busy helping all the kooks over on FB..... lost track of reality!
Please continue giving him poop!

So...... Have you load tested the battery? Have you checked ALL the connections? Have you done ANY of the things I asked about previously? Come on, lady. We're gonna bail if you don't even want to help yourself.

A bad ground wire to the starter will also cause this and ground wires being low in the hull are exposed to elements/corrosion. Hook up a negative jumper cable from negative battery to engine block to rule out bad ground wire would be my first step ( I've had this be the reason before of clicking relay ). Test all components before buying anything too.

How am I not being nice? Grow a set, missy. I'm not sorry I hurt your feelings, at all. Good advice given, and not followed.
How about you read what I posted, and actually do it. I don't have time to drive to your mommies house and fix it for you.

If it makes you feel better, Jr. just reinforced what I mentioned to you.
