Help! Super Jet

Location

New to this so forgive me if I suck... My 91 Super Jet is getting a ton of water in the hull. Lets water in even when not running. No visible holes or crack in my hull, basically sank yesterday. Pretty confident my hood seal is fine. Had this ski 10 years have never had this problem. Anyone have any clue what the problem could be??

If it leaks when it isn't running, why not put it in the water with the hood off and watch where the water comes in? Conversely, you could dump water in and watch for where it pours out if you have it in a trailer.

I've used the "fill the hull with water and see where it leaks out" method in the past. The midshaft housing is usually the culprit. One 'ski didn't leak a drop so I raised the water level. Turned out the glue at the bond line had begun to break up and that's where the water was getting in. That 'ski was 15 years old at the time. Your 'ski now 25+. I think the glue gets brittle with age. Something to consider...

I might add that if you use the higher filling technique, or you've almost sunk the 'ski (as you've stated) it's probably a good idea to pop the stator cover off and check for water intrusion. Water can get in past a poorly sealing gasket or where the drive end of the starter motor enters that area.
