Hey guys. As you may know there is a product on the market called Herbalife. It has been on the market since the 80's and we are now in over 86 different countries. This product is currently trading on the New York Stock Exchange and is an FDA approved meal replacement.

Now I know what you are saying, "pfft not another one of these weight loss bs programs." well I can tell you from my experience as well as others that it is not a typical weight loss program where you just get the product and have to figure it out on your own. We are certified wellness coaches who will help coach you through the process of loosing weight healthily.

If anyone has any questions feel free to contact me @ 805-231-9248 or email me Shane.canter@yahoo.com. Even if you are out of state i can still get product to you and help you out with setting up the program. We do follow up regularly to make sure we answer any questions you may have as well as address any problems. The product does have a 30 day money back guarantee and if you would like to know more please feel free to hit me up any time.

I am not a certified trainer but can help with workout's as well. I have been training for 3 years now and have lost over 40lbs and over 8% body fat in the process.

Personally I am not a fan of multi-level marketing 'schemed' companies regardless of the end product they are hawking. People are far better off finding their nutritional needs through real food than through meal replacements and supplements.

Losing weight is incredibly simple. It takes a tiny bit of knowledge, a bit of will power and some effort, and that is it.

Yeah but we do live in America and not too many people have the mentality you and I do. This is just another stepping stone in my life and i am just trying to branch out and use my resources to put some more money away for a down payment on a house.

I can say from the last 20 days being on this stuff does help, but yes you can get the same results with just eating right although from my experience eating right is also very expensive and depending on what you are trying to achieve you have to eat a TON haha.

No offense intended..
It sounds, to me, like:

The guy/gal that sold you this garbage was a much better salesperson than you are.

BTW: Contact me. I've got an inside line on some killer default/swap investment opportunities.
You can't lose!

It was an easy way to make money quick and help fat people in the area out. Its working for them so cant really say it doesn't work.

As for the investment stuff.. thanks for the sarcasm.

Is this is the same Herbalife that is causing Hepatotoxicity?
[h=1]Continuous reporting of new cases in Spain supports the relationship between Herbalife® products and liver injury.[/h]
[h=3]Abstract[/h][h=4]PURPOSE:[/h]Previous publications have linked Herbalife® products to hepatotoxicity. The identification of earlier cases in which the culprit agent could not be established raised the hypothesis of a possible contamination of some specific batches of Herbalife products.
[h=4]METHODS:[/h]We searched the Spanish Pharmacovigilance Centres' database of adverse reactions for reports of liver injury associated with the use of Herbalife products from 2003, when the first case was submitted, through September 2010.
[h=4]RESULTS:[/h]The search resulted in 20 reports of liver damage (mean age, 49 years; 16 women), with 12 patients (60%) requiring hospitalization. Hepatocellular damage predominated, and nine (53%) of the hepatocellular cases with bilirubin values were jaundiced, fulfilling the Hy's law criteria, which increases the risk for serious outcomes. Two patients experienced a positive rechallenge. One patient developed cirrhosis, whereas all the others recovered. Causality assessment by the Karch and Lasagna modified algorithm showed a category of definite in 1 case, probable in 14, and possible in 5. Analysis of the different Herbalife products that each patient had taken did not enable us to identify any commonly known hepatotoxic ingredient.

[h=4]CONCLUSIONS:[/h]Our results support the relationship between the consumption of Herbalife products and hepatotoxicity, underscore the concern regarding the liver-related safety of this dietary supplement, and emphasize the need to establish further regulatory measures.

[h=1]Severe hepatotoxicity following ingestion of Herbalife nutritional supplements contaminated with Bacillus subtilis.[/h]Stickel F, Droz S, Patsenker E, Bögli-Stuber K, Aebi B, Leib SL.
[h=3]Source[/h]Institute of Clinical Pharmacology, University of Bern, Murtenstrasse 35, 3010 Bern, CH, Switzerland. felix.stickel@ikp.unibe.ch

[h=3]Abstract[/h][h=4]BACKGROUND/AIMS:[/h]Nutritional supplements are widely used. Recently, liver injury after consumption of Herbalife preparations was reported but the underlying pathogenesis remained cryptic.
[h=4]METHODS:[/h]Two patients presented with cholestatic hepatitis and pruritus, and cirrhosis, respectively. Viral, alcoholic, metabolic, autoimmune, neoplastic, vascular liver diseases and synthetic drugs as the precipitating causes of liver injury were excluded. However, both patients reported long-term consumption of Herbalife products. All Herbalife products were tested for contamination with drugs, pesticides, heavy metals, and softeners, and examined for microbial contamination according to standard laboratory procedures. Bacteria isolated from the samples were identified as Bacillus subtilis by sequencing the 16S rRNA and gyrB genes.
[h=4]RESULTS:[/h]Causality between consumption of Herbalife products and disease according to CIOMS was scored "probable" in both cases. Histology showed cholestatic and lobular/portal hepatitis with cirrhosis in one patient, and biliary fibrosis with ductopenia in the other. No contamination with chemicals or heavy metals was detected, and immunological testing showed no drug hypersensitivity. However, samples of Herbalife products ingested by both patients showed growth of Bacillus subtilis of which culture supernatants showed dose- and time-dependent hepatotoxicity.
[h=4]CONCLUSIONS:[/h]Two novel incidents of severe hepatic injury following intake of Herbalife products contaminated with Bacillus subtilis emphasize its potential hepatotoxicity.

It's not that it's "only in Spain". What Quinc posted are excerpts of a specific study that looked only at cases in Spain.
These kind of things are not self-reported by patients or by hospitals. Dedicated research staff look through hospital records and try to make connections (well based in evidence, one hopes).
So it's not necessarily limited to one country - the study is.

I have been in and out of the supplement game for a long time. Worked for difference companies when I was younger etc. Save your money. 99.9997% of the supplements out there are garbage. You will be better off spending your money on a decent blender and juicing. If someone does manage to sell you on something, do a search on the ingredients in pubmed.org. If it is not a study done on humans don't waste your time. Also figure out the formulas on how much they use in the studies. Chances are the supplement you are using is so under dosed that you will not notice anything. Having said all that placebo is one of the best supplements money can buy.

Best thing about these "nutritional supplements" is that they are not subject to FDA rules about making unsubstantiated claims.

Agreed. As with just about everything worth doing its worth doing right. Sups are supposedly a short cut, but just eating the right things will do way more good and actually work for you. Takes a lot more effort to do so.

I agree with you up to a point. Supplementing, weightlifting, and dieting all go hand in hand. Supplements will make huge gains that ordinary foods can't make over a certain period of time. I wouldn't say supplements are a shortcut, because in lifting and building the perfect body their are mo shortcuts or binge days. They will push you to new heights you would have never thought you would reach. But you have to supplement your supplements and lifting regime with a healthy diet. Otherwise you will end up with gains that are very disappointing.

I'm not saying some don't work. I watched a friend bulk up very fast doing the method mentioned above whey protein I think, But still wouldn't advise it. To me it's not healthy but just ask the buzzard I don't know chit and spew worthless advice all over the board haha
