Use Google to search x-h2o. There tons of info on this subject.

Single cooling = 1 cooling line
Dual cooling = 2 cooling lines coming from the pump

A stock 650 should have plenty water with single cooling. What is "hot"..? As long as your at or under 140F your fine.

There are no pissers on a 91 650. Only time you would T (I would use a Y) into the line would be to install a flush kit.

If you really feel like it's not cooling properly you probably have a lot of build up inside from it not being flushed. If It seems like a serious problem you should replace the lines and take the head off and clean all the cooling passage ways. You should definitely be ok for the summer but I would take it apart over winter for peace of mind.

Dual cooling is not for insurance of a blocked line. Dual cooling if for motors that are generating extra heat from performance modifications. For example, an exhaust pipe may generate 1000 extra RPM, a head my increase the compression, a ignition might increase the spark. Each of these can increase the temp of the motor. Location can affect it to, such as it being 100 degrees in florida vs 60 in the north.

The goal is to adjust the cooling to ensure the motor is running at the proper operating temp. If you have dual cooling and it gets cold out, you may need restrictors to keep the engine temps up high enough to prevent a seize (hot pistons in a cold cylinder).

An IR heat sensor is about $5 at harbor freight. Normal cylinder temps are around 140 degrees.
