High Compression

So I have a 1000cc gp800 stroker with Riva heads
Was in a rush to finish the build because of upcoming vacation
Get to the lake and take a compression test and have 270 psi in both cylinders on two different gauges

I was hoping for about 225 at the most but can’t do anything up here now
Anyone else running a ridiculous compression?

Might need different domes, have some custom cut if necessary, and you probably should check your squish band clearence if you haven't already. I may be wrong about this but I had been running a motor with only .035 squish and at first after a rebuild it showed around 240 psi then dropped down to 210 until it stuck a piston, I had nothing nearly as radical as that motor you have though. The gp motor is a different beast than a 62t

Itll run like that for a few hours or few gallons. Should be snappy with some 116 in the tank. Or check squish band etc and have domes cut. Never heard of a 1000 66E cool setup

I have .030 clearance squish wise, made sure I did before I had a piston slapping my head
Yeah I never ran a stroked crank in a gp800 till now

Squish was at at .030
I’m debating on driving home and getting a thicker gasket
Just had the crank redone and really don’t want to bend another rod.

The motor has 89mm pistons with the 5mm stroke, all with the WDK parts and mount plates.
Runs like crazy with the total loss but it’s reallt hard to find parts

A whole year later and destroyed head bolts and ended up getting almost a 1/8” inch thick copper gasket which ended up dropping my compression to 175
Would still like 200ish but this gasket cost me 100 dollars lol
Thanks for the help guys

Maybe have someone take a little off your gasket until you achieve 200. Post a video of it running. Sounds cool. I had a wdk 66e long time ago. Was in the wrong hull lol
