What's the largest prop you guys have run and had success with on a similar setup? I've run 13/16 swirl before and not noticed huge difference between it and the hooker.

Current setup:

760 flat top BB, freestyle ported cylinder/cases
190 compression 26cc domes
ATP Epic
OEM44's
blueprinted OEM pump w/ 9/15 hooker
WW cone (or OEM cone)
stock nozzle diameter but do have a 85mm bored nozzle
dual cooling
R&D intake grate

How high of a pitch have you guys had success with on a similar engine. I was running a RN SJ hull, but am changing hulls (dropping about 50lbs of weight).

I have run a 14/18 concord on a stock 701 with a B pipe, a ported 701 with a Bpipe and TL, a ported 760 with a Bpipe at TL, a ported 760 with stock ignition and a 66E 800 with a pipe. Pretty happy with its performance on all setups, never tried the same setup back to back with any different props though so I have no idea how much better (or worse) it could be, I like to have my power in the midrange more than bottom end though.

I started out with a 9/15 on my ported 760 and felt it ran out of prop around half throttle, i switched to a 10/16 and it has been great. I didn't lose as much bottom as i expected but i gained mid and plenty enough top end for my riding style. Me and BK had this discussion last week and we both agreed that many people are way underpropped with the 9/15.

I haven't spoke with Dave at Impros about it, but by my seat of pants impression. I feel like I'm spinning the prop off the bottom. The engine will spool up real quick before it really grabs hold and shoves the ski around. I'm by no means an expert and have little in comparison but I've seen where some guys have gone up to a 14/19 on a ported 701 (jetmaniac/blue engine) with OEM pumps. I'd like to go up, but don't want to be sending my prop back and forth multiple times for repitching. I want to do it once. Can you repitch a prop more than once? 10/16 is a logical jump...might not be enough though. Impros = $70 for repitch.

Your engine may not want to rev enough with "freestyle" porting and a limited pipe. A mod chamber will help raise the rpm and add power. Increasing pump load may extend acceleration but seldom increases low speed thrust, except in an extreme mismatch.

From what I remember, re pitching can usually only go about 3 degrees in either direction at maximum.

I had the same dillema when i upgraded mine. I only had 3 rides on my 9/15 and questioned sending it for repitch or outright buying a new one. I opted to buy new and put the 9/15 in my wife's ski. This way if i did want more, it was less of a stretch fpr the 10/16 than the 9/15.

Dave is pretty good with these things, you should really just give him a call and describe your setup.

My engine is actually a 62T 84mm race port done by TLR with a carbon mod chamber and 185psi.
