Ever since I have had my EZ Ski hitch hauler, my ski is almost permanently on the hauler ready for whatever body of water we come across next! People in my work's parking garage are like "I mean honestly, who brings a jetski to work?"........Matt Jones does! I love this hauler....best purchase of the year for me.

I really appreciate the kind words!! Honestly make a guy feel good that he can produce a quality product that helps this sport out . Here is to another great season of skiing!!!!

Hi guys, I've been talking with Chris about hitch hauler. I love the idea, but need some re-assurance that I'm not going to overload the hitch on my 2003 Expedition, stock. The issue isn't the hauler, but my hitch combined with the couch I want to put onto it. Here's what I know.

Ski: Seadoo HX
Weight: 390 lbs dry (~450 lbs wet est.)
Hitch: 600 lbs tongue max. and 6k trailer (ratings from Ford)

Now I know Blasters and X2s have been used on the hauler as well all types of stand ups, but the HX is quite heavy. Anyone have real world experience? Thanks for the help.

according to google, seadoo HX is 107 inches long, while superjet is 88 inches long.

Max Width allowed on highways without permit (okay..in texas) is 102 inches.

As much as I like hitch hauler and have one, personally I'd tow your ski.

Ok, I checked WA state and you are correct (8' 6" = 102") that the width would be exceeded. I can get a permit for $10 per month I suppose, but that's a bit of a hassle I think. Thanks for the advice.

Finished this one today, it's bolted together but I'm going to have the seams welded to give me piece of mind, any thoughts?? Looking for some strips of turf to run down the wood, probably will spray the wood black as well. Also plan to add some "safety" chains from the eye hooks closest to the jeep to my recovery hooks mounted on the bumper, again, piece of mind. At least that way, say catastrophic failure and my 2x2 snaps or something, the thing would be chained to the jeep and not go sliding off into a ditch or worse, someone else's vehicle!!!

Fwiw I'd never trust that thin steel to hold my 250-350 lb ski after couple road bumps. Spend the $$ and buy rad dudes hauler- ( I have one, just speaking from xperience) 200 for peace of mind on my 8k ski

I agree on purchasing a hauler instead of using a cargo carrier converted. The main support on that cargo hauler looks to be possibly .090 wall square tubing ( judging this based off of how sharp the 90deg edges are) I build my carriers using .250 wall square tubing ( literally 2.75x stronger in comparison to that cargo carrier!) You have an extremely nice ski there... would be a shame to watch it skip across the freeway ... I can ship a carrier to your door for $185+ shipping that I guarantee will make your life a lot easier , and my product is backed with a LIFETIME WARRANTY. As always .. please feel free to text or call me .. number is in my signature
