Super Jet hmm need help 701 bogging issue

took the sj out to the lake last weekend after it sat for about 3 weeks, well its not running so good, if you start off and gradually pull the throttle off idle it will run just fine as long as you dont go wot until after about 1 minute of riding around, if you go wot right off the bat or shortly after gradually giving it gas it will bog down real bad. i cant figure out what is causeing this to happen? im speculating that it could be a bad fuel pump (its the stock 44 with the carb mounted pump) or maybe the plugs have gone bad? any help would be appreciated trying to fix the problem on the first try so im not wasting money. oh and its a 61x/61x 701 if that helps basically stock except for a adjustable rev limiter from promarine

pull the plugs to check but i doubt it.

my first thought is, the needle is opening at WOT and then not closing when you let off, and flooding the engine. I'm not a guru. Hopefully someone can validate or instruct you not to listen to me :) good luck

i pulled the plugs and they look fine but ive see plugs that look fine and not fire at all so ima change them out regardless, and as far as the need not closing what could be causeing this? and what are the chances of the needle sticking everytime and only at wot, as long as i avoid wot the ski runs perfectly fine

im a little confused on what your problem is... are you saying that it bogs after you have been riding at wot or if you're riding around and give it wot it just bogs?

it kinda is both if i ride around at 3/4 throttle its fine, but if i immidiatly go wot off idle it bogs and sometimes it will even bog if i go wot after cruising around at 3/4 throttle for about a minute, but if i cruise for lets say 5 minutes then go wot it will run fine until u let off or brap the throttle

Rip open that carb and investigate. Change the title of your thread so we know what we are clicking on.

It could be something as simple as a clogged fuel filter or pickup. So start at the easy end of the fuel system (tank) and work your way to the carb. Let us know what you find.

I'm no guru either, but im wondering if maybe the carb getting warmed up from the engine running helps the fuel atomize better or something along those lines?

I would tear down the carb, clean it real well. Internal filter could be clogged.

I have the exact same problem. Seems ok if you give it just a little bit of gas, but soon as you go WOT it just totally bogs down. Found this morning that all my screws on the carbs are backed out one turn except the top of one was 9x !!!! so I changed it back to one screw like the others. Hopefully it should be good now. Was there any damage from running it so rich??

how do i get the the internal filter? is it behind the pump or what? ive never messed with carbs in general just mostly sat in the background and whatched my dad tear em down clean and rebuild them in his boat buisness
