Hello all.
Riding season is over here in MA and that means its time for upgrades. Recently I have purchased and installed a Blowsion OVP steering paired with RIVA straight fat bars with odi grips and new blowsion throttle lever to my 2006 Yamaha superjet. Its a sweet set up, however my chin pad did not fit anymore so instead of trying to mod the poop out of it or just screw it down the pole further back, I have decided to order a new one. To my surprise I found nothing...maybe I did not look hard enough.
Anyway I decided to make my own. Here is where it stand so far. I still have to make an aluminum bracket to secure it to the factory mounting points but that's coming later. I will update this post when its ready.
I cut and shaped it from 1/4" plexyglass that I bent and formed with a heat gun. Then I applied some hydroturf left over from when i rebuilt my jetski. Took me like 3 hours or so. Here it is

Thanks and yes That is true, it have no padding. It have more of an aesthetic function and not to slam your face directly in the center pivot. The 2.0 version will have a pad :))))

You can still put a layer of fairly dense padding down before you put the turf. I have a krash pole and the small piece of pad got chewed so I replaced it with a chunk of those interlocking floor mats. Unless you're a crap rider or getting really crazy , you don't need a chin pad. Ski looks like crap without it tho. Every once in a while I graze my chin.

That looks good, next time I will come up with something similar. Looks is what primarily I was after .The factory chinpad looks like crap with the ovp steering in my opinion.

The first one I put on looked like crap. The outer didn't want to stay down. This one I contact cemented and then wrapped it with saran wrap until it was dry. Been nailed down for a few years now. A local kid with a squarenose has an ovp and hasn't figured out a pad yet. If you do a search for jaw jacked, I posted some pix of his broken jaw lol
