Home made fixed steer Sj??

Thinking of building a fixed steering hood for the SJ over the winter and was wondering if anyone has done this successfully and has any pointers...I am aware of the options for new out there but I don't have 1200 plus dollars to spend but I do have 6 months plus of winter ahead of me.

GUess one of the most important things to start with is the steering, what setup is everyone running?? X2, Blaster, HX, etc...

Any pics, details or anyhting else helpful would be great.

Yes, a few have made their own, like Kingnothing, and WFOspeedracer. Any yam couch steering should work. HX steering would be really tough to use.

Do it! A shortshafted couch steering would prob work best.

X2 steering will work but you need to make a new steering arm.

I'm building one from a Waveraider hood and a stock squarenose hood. Coming along pretty well.
It's still a long way from done, but I need to put up a build thread I guess.

i built one a couple of years ago... out of an old square... used a kawa x2 steering to start with... then move to a umi x2 steering.
