ive used the harbor freight gun for years and at $50 and basically free replacement at anytime policy. a lot of ovens have the ability to use Propane or Natural gas which is way cheaper than electric if you get addicted to powder coated everything you own :) as for powder, i go to my local powder coating shop and buy from them usually costs about $5/lb. They dont like to use powder thats more than 6 months old where i go and usually will give me that stuff free by the boxes ! sandblasting is not necessary but having a clean surface is. sandblasting is just the most efficient way to clean and strip metal items that are nasty or painted.

I would think if you have a lot of small parts to be coated it would be a way cheaper option than having someone else do it.

I got the Eastwood kit a few months ago, it works pretty well. Hindsight, i would've gone for the dual voltage version.

I built a rollaround for $50 that holds an oven i got for free, with a table top for coating and pillars for hanging. 30ft 220 extension cord and im mobile. For $150 total invested, i've coated exhausts, manifolds, bottle openers, car engine parts, pump parts, and im doing my carbs right now. 1 is done, looks real nice.

I dont quite get professional results every time, but im getting better each time. Great thing to have for these aluminum beasts.
