300/440/550 homemade hood seal?

for the 550's you can use door weather stripping from home depot, works perfect. for all of you that need the other type of hood seal, go to your auto parts store and buy car door weatherstripping. chances are they will sell it to you by the foot pretty cheap and its the same stuff as oem!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Resurrecting an old thread. I eventually went with OEM.

Been using this stuff on a couple 550's for 6 years now.. never replaced it. Its grip lock stuff. You put it on the hood its self and not on the hull. The bulb mashes flat to seal. Got it from my local marine/boat center.

I'm still thinking about using this stuff in addition to the oem seal to better seal the hood. I have an oversized gas tank & the front of my hood doesn't seal as well as I like. I'm getting to the point where I'm becoming a perfectionist now, but I might try this stuff and see how it works.

Wow, that looks like it would work 100X better then the HT seal i just bought. Plus i made a huge mess with my seal install somehow... This looks simple and effective.
