Woah boy been a while since I was around this subject.. let me try to fill in some gaps.
To start, I came on board and still wish to support Larry and this Rad little Kawi based hull around the time of world finals. However, I am simply spread out too thin as it is with my lack of work to keep my active Freeride and Racing travels successful. Bottom line is, I dont have the time or resources to get over to his shop like I did before world finals with everything I am wrapped up with currently. Not being around Larry and this hull much since the world finals is really the reason why I personally have not been on here posting more updates. I do have a few theories and Ideas behind a few of your questions and concerns from what I learned about larry during the time I was working with him on this hull.
Why would you advertise on CL? WTF? Wheres the specs.. Weight, length and more info other than shoertened modified SXR?
Confused.
I posted these specs on the hull back when we put together a little "teaser" video before world finals:
"The VENGANCE hull is an SXR based Freestyle hull that has been heavily modified with a swooping front nose rocker with the bond line. The hull is 29 inches wide having thicker wing like bond line which makes the ski super stable and push a pretty decent wake. The overall length of the ski is apx.78.5 inches. I am not at all a seasoned flat water rider yet but this hull feels super flick-able and stable all around for a light weight hull. The tray is the length of a superjet with a front internal foothold installed and has the wide tray from the SXR. This combo is killer for having tons of leverage over the little guy. This is a team effort between Larry and I. I am helping him assemble the ski as I can and ride the ski but the entire concept, design, and development is entirely by Larry Sarinana who has for years been going against the grain trying to build a sweet kawasaki based freestyle ski."
Here was the video we made also:
x2.... im interested in this hull and seems this forum would be the right place to post the details rather than craigslist...very odd
Larry sells his hull thru quikstyle motorsports as well as other 3dr products and sometimes advertises locally on c.l. Why not? Until his stuff gets the exposure it needs whats it going to hurt ? Free advertising .it got someone's attention here.check it out
Its funny you guys say this but I have been consistently surprised over the last few years dealing with customers at the shop i used to work at, selling parts, and riding in different areas around so cal to find out that a surprising number of people have NO IDEA about x-h2o or the concept of and or how to get aftermarket hulls. My humble theory about "Why" he hasn't gone postal here about the hull on the X is possibly this:
Building the first 2 of these hulls with Larry was definitely a PROJECT, The hull mold is super nice to work with and absolutely solid. However the little important things like the bulkhead, engine/pump mounting mock up, and Motor mount platform embedding all were done without any "fixtures" or molds. This did NOT mean at all that they were not good or not on the money with the measurements and levels.. it just took a really really long time to make sure we did it right with the tools that were available within the time frame and budget he had to build them. With this being in mind, im pretty sure Larry isn't blowing this up because he is simply not ready to take on the possibility of mass orders and demand for this hull. The reason I teamed up with larry is because he is the kind of dude who loves what he does and loves more to get it done the right way. From a guy who simply got started into composites and building hulls just because he wanted to build something legit and rad for himself has come a long way with how he builds the things he does in the most progressive and positive way. I cant say enough good things about him. Another thing to consider is the given fact that winter time blows for the PWC industry and he does run his own shop at the same time. It definitely helps to have some income to support this project, so I could very well see that this slower winter has pumped the brakes quite a bit on this project.
At the end of the day, this hull is still rad and I do plan to build my own utilizing the gnarly power that Steve webster at Kommander can but together out of a Kawasaki powerplant. Its all just a matter of when I can put together that "fun money" to build a competitive freestyle hull. I also would expect to see more details a little later this year when he has the time to create what he needs to speed up the process of building this hull.
Hope this helps guys, sorry about the wait.
