Hood breather tubes

Need to install/fabricate breather tubes on a new Tom21 build hood, any suggestions? Fabricate, find similar, rob from donor FX1? Area from hood liner to hood is smaller than stock. Thought thin pvc but heat may affect that. Make some carbon tubes? Ouch!

Craftsman hose works pretty good. I picked up some 2 1/2 inch and cut down some of the stock tube that wouldn’t allow me to close the hood.

After cutting one end of the hose I stuffed it into what was left of the vent tube and noticed that it was practically stuck in there and had to work it to remove.

I then drilled several holes in the modified stock tube. I mocked up a section of vacuum hose to proper length then cut it.

I then took fast cure 5200 and covered the outside of the vacuum hose with it. I then stuffed the vacuum hose into the modified vent tube. Layered some 5200 around the stock tube packing voids of the holes I drilled for adhesion. Also creating a layer arrow de the stock modified tube and tying into the vacuum hose.

This is a temporary fix for me, but has held up and believe it will hold up for the rest of season, or until I get around to reinforcing my hood and modifying vent tubes for a permanent solution.

No Square..No Round..FX-1
Looks good. The 5200 is always messy and smeary unless you cover it up. My "I'm going to temporally fix this hood tube issue" is still looking that way & holding up. I used a hot glue gun & it looks messy too, but works.

The stock FX-1 from the factory comes with the driest operating hood design, It's because of the X pattern vent tubes. If you route the vent tubes straight, & lay the ski over, water will pour in real quick. When you get tossed in the surf & loose the ski, it will sink.
