What do you guys put on your hood seal to keep it on. My brother has tried a bunch of stuff and nothing seems to be working? What do you recommend?

Thanks,
Matt

Dap contact cement the flammable one. Make sure you scuff up the the bottom of the hood seal rubber and the grove in the ski where it goes. If its a superjet and a new hood seal dont cut it it will fit. It is not to big. You just have to press it down and scrunch it as you go to make it fit right.

Contact cement worked well for me, but I had to cut it, no way was it going to fit in there.

Haha. thats what I thought. I was trying to "train" it and pre-fit it for a hour and it would not fit no matter what i did!
I was cursing Yamaha for a $110 piece of rubber that didnt even fit right!

You have to use superglue gel and start from the back middle and do about 4-6" at a time and slowly bunch it back on itself when you put down and it comes out perfect. Its not too long. This was on a roundnose btw. I never had a prob with the Squarenose OEM hood seals not pre-fitting or fitting.
I used the DAP red can weldwood for Hydro-turf only and the gel superglue for the hood seal.

(high fill CA glue) then there is a release agent you can use later on if you need to remove it..

last one I did though they were out of that stuff so I just used regular superglue (non-generic)

CA? maybe that's right. I'm not much of a detail person.

or CA, go to any hobby store, they will have small tubes and bigger bottles of it, get the 20-30 second gel so you can position things properly and you'll be all set. It should be around $8 for the bottle.
