It’s a D profile foam seal. Works great. I just removed mine after 8 years of use because I’m repainting my ski. Still soft and supple. I bought another one from JetManiac yesterday to replace it. It’s the best option out there that isn’t OEM.

+1 for Watcon. Goes on easy and secure, does the job well. Follow the instructions and don’t stretch it. Seal tips for the SN:

The gap where the front of the hood goes is wider than the rest. See how your hood sits there with all hardware on it to know where best to put the seal, though you’ll still get a decent seal if you don’t. Doesn’t matter what seal you use due to the SN build.

The front lip of the SN tends to sag after several years, which can affect seal quality. If bad enough and you want to correct it, mix up some resin with some flox or another thickener and fill it in just enough to level it out. Really rough it up underneath and lightly make some dimples with a 3/16 drill for best results. If done neatly and you’re not OCD like me, you could put the seal directly over it after a light sanding and cleaning without painting it and it won’t stand out too much.

I'm building a ski for a friends 9 year old daughter ... Don't want her to sink

Wouldn’t worry about that. Even with several gaps around a worn seal, I never had a problem with my bay flooding. Currently ha e a 1x2” chip missing from the front of my hood that takes on some water when turning left. As long as the bilge pump is good, it’s not an issue, even the stock bilge. Of course any ski will have a little residual water to wipe or vac out after. She won’t sink from the hood seal, a busted exhaust boot or cooling line could be different.
