I've been trying to find the stuff to make my own hoodstraps and a pole rope, I found this site which seems to have just about everything one could want to make there own straps and what not, seems pretty cheap to, and has good explainations on whats good for water and whats not,

http://www.strapworks.com

If any one else has any other recommendations on where to pick up the materials for the project let me know, otherwise I will post a review if I order from them, to help some others out

i think you should just spend the 30 bucks stainless ones they are solid and have worked for me great I go mine from blowsion its set up and has the eyelets to bolt through and by the time you spend 8 bucks for straps and 6 for clips then make the eyelets your at like 20 bucks and its not sano but if you want to save money sell the ski and find a cheaper hobby ...jk,.. but ya ive seen decent work but its work and time.

the best way to install them would be run the eyelet from the bottom kick plate in the ski tray if you remove turf under the dash fuel selector there is going to be two holes I used one for each then the clips are about 3 inches and from there they run to each screw on the nose piece.

about the limiting rope that prob something id say do yourself cause they want like 39 and I paid that and I also paid home depot to fix it.
First off its nice... that’s it. the rope is strong remember that the ski is 300 and about 300 or more load it will bare that means all the hooks straps and ties will need to be strong. So the first problem came when the eyehook bent and also the carabineer got corroded and those things can’t hold a lot of weight

and ive seen guys run a bungee to hold the rope back and run it to the front of the hood near the hood clips there is a nice little place on mine at least you cant miss it.

So id say just try this out and always remember what you put in part out. And sell the ski stock.

I think your right, on the blowsion hood straps, I was still trying to figure out the eyelets, so I will probably go that route and just buy them, and just do the pole limiting strap my self.
Its not really the money for me (No Im not rich im in the military) but I just like making my things my self, Half the hobby is riding, half is wrenching!

JMO.... The Blowsion plastic buckles on their hoodstraps are worthless, If you have a hard impact that would cause the hood to come off they break...I learned that the hard way. Thats why I prefer to ratchet the hood down, I'll choose my ski not sinking over being sano anyday, besides it doesnt look that bad.

true

but if you are landing so hard aka landing on side of hood hard enough to break the metal hood latch, or hood hooks or fiberglass they connect to and both plastic clips. well then you have more problems then the hood falling off. jmo :beerchug:

agreed. I've broken my blowsion buckles a few times. My new winter project ski will be getting a ratcheting strap.

Great link! That site is definitely going in my favorite links.

Bought my straps off NJFL on the board for 10 bucks Seems to be good quaility. spent 4.99 at walmart for a tarp repair kit to get the eye-lets and like 4.00 on 1/2" stainless bolts. Like my way much better than 29.00 plus outreagous shippin charge. Broke down and bought my limiting rope from wamiltons. 39.00 Definetly worth it.
