hooker experiences

i talked to dave at impros and we had discussed putting an 11-17 hooker in my ski. right now it is a 771cc 185psi, aluminium flywheel, dual 46 carbs, b-pipe, and a 144 mag pump. my current pitch is a 14-19 and it hits very hard on the bottom. dave said i can get quite a bit more bottom and i was just wondering if anybody has had a transition similar to this and how they liked it???? thanks for any input

Other than a pipe, I think the hooker props were the best ad ons we put on the spec blasters. Dave pretty much has my business forever on all my skis.

unless you are pushing BIG 900 +cc power there is no need to go any higher than a 10/16 for freeride, they are all most impossible to spin being cut back 7 mill and large hub,In a mag pump there is even more pressure so maybe even smaller on the prop,I run pretty nasty 5 mills with billet cylinders and the 10/16 rips,Ive wanted to try the 9/15,it will prolly be the next one I try.its not going to spin it just moves the power band of the motor down a little lower, and I dont need top end anyway, neither do most of us here.

Has anyone put a pitch gauge up to a hooker and a S. big hub ? what makes them different other than pitch ? is the hub diameter the same as the Scat ? A hooker sounds great ! maybe two

they are very sim other than they are cut back 7 mill, not sure how that would work out in a setback pump.I hear the pitch is slightly varied from a c75 scat mag,im not totally convinced its all that diff other than the cutback,id have to see them both in a pitch gauge myself

Still Fat....
i run the 9-15 in a stock pump and love it with my 5mil Lamey setup running serious compression
gets decent bite, and has that nice pop to it
i does run out of speed upstairs, but thats not what i want, besides the motor has plenty of muscle to keep pulling the ski
personally i think you may want to try various pitches to see what fits your taste, and you should definitely feel a difference from what you have now
I haven't problems working with Dave on setups, that is one thing i like about dealing with him
although i have bought soooooooooooo many props in the past

My hooker 9/15 with 7mm setback is wow, hooks up like none other. I can't imagine a better set up for now, though ive never riddin with a mag pump. wetwolf freestyle cone, jet dynamics top loader, it does good, just need more HP behind it, but it keeps hooked up

With 7mm cutback the blades of the impeller must be close to touching the blades of the vanes, I see how you can get away with the low pitch #s , sweet.

All I gots to say is this

You get what u pay for---
If u pay 5 dolla it's prolly gonna smell like dead fish on a hot summer day
If u pay 10 dolla it's prolly gonna smell like dead fish on a hot summer day wit some perfume sprayed on it
If u pay 10.01, it's prolly gonna be pretty good stuff.
