Thin topside layup done. Foam and packing tape removed. Now I will build them up from the bottom. Anyone ever fit s riva freeride pipe in an fx1?

Fresh coat of appliance epoxy makes it look better. It's about as smooth as a surf ski needs to be. The rippled cloth texture adds 10hp easy on a glass ski. Filled in the driveshaft hole. Added a thru hull line. Had to get crafty with a tow point since the front is all weird now. Excited to ride it in a few weeks.

Will a riva freeride pipe fit in an Fx1? Short answer: yes. But it does require modification to the hood lip area and the liner of the hood. It's very tight, but it should work!

Fits like OJ's gloves. With everything bolted down and aligned it gets pretty tight. I ground the hood seal lip down to nothing and dented the pipe more but is still rubs barely. Coming up short on a few right handed rolls should give me more clearance. Hood liner will also have to be modified.

That's going to vibrate and buzz like a m'fer, you need more space between the hull and chamber. Also, these pipes RIP, I run them in every ski that they fit in.

I'm hoping I can dent it until it doesn't. Here's a better pic. It only gets close in the front. I was able to get the turf in there so that should help. Hood clears now too. Definitely not a bolt on pipe for an fx1.

Are you going to leave the turf there? Is it glued to the pipe?

there was another guy on here a few years back who put one on his fx1. I cant recall his name but he said it ran really well on top. had a slight low end stumble. I believe he was running stock 61x porting and timing thru a OE 122 pump with a skat prop.
