I've heard so many mixed reviews so I think the QC is hit and miss.
In a stock to mild engine I say go for it...I'm running one in my ported 760. Ran one in my beefed up 951...I've never had a crank failure that was the result of the crank simply failing. Big power needs a good crank and OEM is the only one that fits that bill.
Call X-metal, I think they sell OEM cranks for around $500? You may need to drop some coin on a billet cylinder to get that price though...only one way to find out. :dunno:
I have one I inherited and it seems really cheap and sloppy to me. I am installing it tonight. The original crank from 1996 has less slop in the rods than the HotRods does.
I thought there was a thread from a couple months ago where someone found OEM yami twin cylinder cranks for like $365 or some ridiculous price like that.
Hotrods cranks says "made in Taiwan" on the box....buy an OEM for sure because the bearings are Japan Seiko Koyo and are made to last...I would rather have a good used oem than a new china/taiwan bearing crank...
