So I got a set of SurfJet Louie sponsons for my 750sx today.. Any help from anyone on the location to install them?? I need to get some 5200 still. I held them up tonight and it also appears there will be a bit of bending involved to get them flush, is this right?? Any help is GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!!

Yes when i installed the tubbies on my bro's sx there was a huge amount of bending involved. You will need some help,I started from the rear and worked forward while my buddy held them down i screwed them into place. I thought they wer going to pull the screws right out. It was fun for sure not as much bending when installing them on my sxi pro.

Thanks crab. I was going to call you tonight, but didn't want to bug you. The set I got from Dayton seemed too far off. I need to get these on quick so I can get the painting done.. I may call you or pm you one of these days for advise if thats cool...

Got them mounted.. 5200 black and stainless screws... wasn't as bad as I expected, but I did pull 2 scews at the front.. backed them out and put a 2x4 block inside the hull and screwed into that while the goo cured...

I'm just currious? Do the sponsons mounted farther foward give you better turning, or more stability? What is the real purpose of putting them on? What is the style of riding that these help for best?

I found with the original front sponsoons was that it got my ski up on plane at lower speeds and got the nose to ride up. This for me was a desired set up for my style riding. The front sponsoons combines with rear hull extensions will allow the boat the turning ability while keeping the nose down for bouy/race style riding. I am missing much tech detail above but this should be accurate. Correct where needed.

Surfersmurf glassed a pair on to a 750sx and they look amazing!

Shoot him a PM..

They look like they are part of the hull....you can't even see where the edges are.
