Other How can I dispose of water-logged fuel?

Over a couple seasons of skidoin I've acquired about 20-30 gallons of fuel that has taken on water. Ski's that have been underwater, fuel caps off, gas can lids off in the rain, etc. I've tried every way I can think of locally to dispose of this. You wouldn't believe the answers I've gotten from the city I live in, fuel companies etc. Most recommend to burn it, or just dump it down drains. I was blown away, haa! I called a local fuel company that sells/distributes fuel and they didn't have the slightest clue, said burn it. I spend a long while calling around one day to all the city offices that have anything to do with waste, etc and just got passed from one clueless person to another. I'd really like to find a legitimate way to dispose of it, any ideas?

Ah I remember asking this here years ago....

I lived in the inner city and ended up taking the can and gas to some "clean up day" thing in the hood. They were taking all chemicals that day.

I was in the same situation I had two rxps that had full tanks of tainted field not going to say what I did with it finally but a good bit a of it evaporated off when I left it out in the sun with the cap off for a couple weeks. I looked into hazardous waste disposal they wanted $10+ per gallon to dispose of flammable liquids. I did find out tho in my county they offer like an like a disposal day once a year that you can drop any thing that is hazardous like batteries paint and so on

Well you can't run it in your car if it's premix...

One option... If the water and fuel haven't separated already, spend $5-$10 and get a few gallons of E85. Ethanol bonds to water well and with some shaking/agitation, the ethanol will cling to the water leaving you pure fuel that you can run at the top of the tank with the water/ethanol at the bottom (there is a visible line if the tank is clear).

It shouldn't take more than a half hour for water to separate from the gasoline. Siphon from the bottom to get water out. After that, I'd run it in any car. If you're worried about it being premix, just pour a little bit into a 3/4 tank

believe it or not... i have ran maybe 2 gallons of castor premix in my friends truck... as long as theres other gas in the truck to dilute it it was fine... and we have done this maybe 15 times in the last 8 months

When I have some really bad fuel that can't be run in the lawnmower (yes, I put premix in there), I mix it with used motor oil and dump that at the local autoparts store. Maybe also check with a local oil change place (Jiffy Lube or the like), or even a car dealership for disposal.

2-3 gallons of mix gas isn't going to affect your car if you have at least 10-15 gallons in it already... Most of our old gas or water logged gas goes into my buddies truck.

I've made the mistake of running fuel that may have had water in it before, not happening again. I have no intention of trying to separate and use this stuff. Some of it's atleast a couple years old, last summer at the best. I realize it sits on the bottom, one look at the containers confirms that one. No real issue with running premix here.. I've used that in vehicles more than once. Water on the other hand.. Not worth the risk or my time to deal with it IMO.

Think I may have a solution. I'll update when I check it out.
