How deep have you subbed

Like the title says. I run a single 500 gph bilge in my usual ski, and have twice done a turn sub deep enough to totally kill the motor and sink it in one shot. Prob 12 feet down.

On a buddies that has a hood mod, and dual 1000 gph bilges, ive done one easily 15 ft deep with the nose, enough to pop my ears.

Just wondering if anyone else uses them for a submarine sometimes, or has seen how deep they can go.

I've had a few shots taken where the water was flat (no bulge, just ripples/jetwash) after a turn sub, and been able to ride them out. I'm betting 6 feet deep at the lowest point of the ski since I have to bend down a bit on a turn sub.

I cant get a vid as Ive lost 2 gopros. 1 to the ocean, and 1 to being stoned and dumb. Also its very hard to sub with a helmet, it likes to rip your head back.

6 feet with the lowest point of the ski doesnt seem right, they are 7 feet long themselves. My turn subs go straight down, full throttle pinned till the engine dies from no air.

If my snipe on ebay works ill have another 960 in a week or so and can post some vids.

How deep have others gone?

My turn subs always have a bit of an angle. Darn nose-proud Q8... my 750sx was a bit better. Square's are tanks, I'm sure it goes pretty deep.

Yeah, my regular one also has probably 3 gallons of water in the tray judging by how heavy it is.

Maybe deep subs have something to do with that? Water pressure can do crazy things? Or just the crappy sealing from the factory?

You still got my old sn hull I sold some time back?

yes, thats the hull im building for surf. Its totally reinforced througout. 701 stock, Alum round nose pole, some bars, a prop, and thats about it. Trying to get the last few things for it so I can start making trips to the coast again now that the season is starting again. Ive been riding the river at least once a week all year though, but you just cant beat the waves.

12 feet deep is crazy. I've been told I was under for a solid 3 seconds and I just remeber it was dark and the bilge ran a long time, I don't care to go that deep again. A video would be awesome if you can do it.

i dont know how deep really 6-8 feet maybe. i had to shake it to get it back up and had mud stuck all over the nose. fun times

I've hit bot quite a few times. Broken the big ass flat part of the nose off 2 squares. I've been under for a full 7 seconds before. When I do them the ski does and slowly floats back to the surface like a bobber.

I will try and borrow a camera for some videos. I know it sounds far fetched but its legit. I only do tub subs at the lake now as since they stopped using the diversion dam at red bluff the river is too shallow IMO for them.

I can also jump sub pretty damn decent too. Along with 180 stabs. Inverted stabs. And just about every trick besides flips on a stock square. Don't have to have 50lb hull and 10000000cc to have fun. Would be nice tho. Hopefully I get this camera.

Do you ever come down to Oroville?

My lowest is just where I can feel that my whole head is under water. I've done it successfully probably ten times now with a ride out. all of them this past season. No footholds so I had to REALLY squeeze and push forward hard like I just really wanted to eat chit. This is a jump sub by the way. I haven't gotten a turn sub completely under yet.

i subbed once only to return to the surface with no ski anywhere to bee seen. i had to swim back down and dig it out..........

lol....

I've hit bottom once pretty hard. My girlfriend was watching me from a pier so I was just going crazy...sliding out all over the place and what not. I got under water once on a jump sub but it was probably 50 yards away from her so knowing full well it was shallow, I told myself I'd be careful and its fine just once and HUCKED it under at about 15 mph. I was in 4 feet water! I was ammo in a sling shot as I plunged right over the bars and touched bottom with my hands. I try to ride away all casual as she's yelling "oh my god are you ok? are you ok?"

The new breed of skis don't sub very well if at all! I could sub the Trinity Matrix fairly well but it requires serious commitment and then went pretty deep, my XFR will from a 180 nosestab but still can barely get your head under before it returns. My FX1 I could 180 stab off 10 foot waves on Lake Winnipeg and from so high you just had to keep it pointing down, to the Abyss baby!
