I just put an ada head on my ported 61x with a Factory type 4 pipe. Its the newer ada style but has Jr. Magoos logo on it, may be worth something someday, lol. Anyways, I have 33cc domes in it. Im going to do a compression test when its all ready, but I was looking at ADA's site and they say 33cc domes yield 100 octane on a stock motor, mine is ported which may drop compression some but with the dry it says to run one size down that what you want.

So how do I make 100 octane and same for 110 if need be???

true, ada domes are 80 bucks for two! I'll just wait to do a compression test, I was under 150 with a stock head and pretty big port job, I may be around 185-195. This is a rec ski, but I know what Im doing.

If im slightly over 185, what should I do?

Find a local oil distributor, or a local car performance shop and buy a 55 gal drum of 110 octane fuel. Citgo & Sunoco make good 110 fuel. There are several other smaller brands that also work well. You can always go to a local regional airport and see if they will sell you 100 octane low lead AV gas. Prepare to spend about $325 or so for a 55 gallon drum of leaded 110. Price will vary by region.

You can email citgo or talk to customer support about finding distributors in your area. I have used the renegade and now the citgo because it is a little cheaper. They both run great and have had no problems running 210psi cranking with MSD enhancer & 4 degree static timing advance.

For 100, mix 91 and 110, which will get you just about 100.

I have been told that it is OK to go a tad over on octane, but never go below.

I like Keefer's suggestion. I buy at about 20 gallon's at a time and it is expensive at almost $8 a gallon for 109.

We are paying about $5.78 per gallon on the drum we bought a few weeks ago.

Im running a motor built by Paul as well. It has been heavily ported; cases/and cylinder both. Im running an ADA girdled head with 33cc domes and I am right at 185psi, and running 93octane. Just my 2 cents.
