Surfriding How do you decide which impeller to get

What do the numbers for the pitch represent for impellers? Like which impeller is for low end punch and which is better for top speed?

Your best bet is to do some research on here because the numbers alone don't mean squat since the hub diameter and shape of the blades also plays a big role in how the prop performs. A 13/18 swirl will be similar in performance to a 9/15 hooker for example. Your best bet is to start a search on the word "hooker" and start looking at what prop people are happy with on what engine/ski setup.

and dont forget that when you finally buy a prop it probably wont be the exact pitch it says. I got a C75 Skat 15/20 swirl and it was actually 17.5/21. Root pitch is a big determining factor aswell. Trial and error is the way to go. Doesn't hurt to collect as much data as possible. But remember just because someone bought a 9/15 and it was great doesn't mean your 9/15 will be the exact pitch as theres as many props are off.
