I'm looking for that Mc Master Carr thread with all the parts numbers that are relevant to stuff we use on our skis. I'm looking specifically for the nut with a screw in it that holds the steering plate down. When I typed in "Official McMaster Carr parts list" on the advanced section, I just get a bunch of irrelevant threads.

For something like that where you remember part or all of the title of the thread, make sure to tell it to only search titles. Also, if you put what you remember in quotes, it will search for all of the words used together, not just all of them individually. The caveat with this is that your search term can get too long for it to process. For example, "the official mcmaster carr parts list" returns an error because, with the quotes making it all one 'term', it is too long. If you put it "the official mcmaster" it makes it short enough to work but long enough that what you want ends up on the first page. Sometimes searching is a hit or miss type deal where it takes a couple of stabs to get it right.

Before I started this thread, I actually searched four different ways, "Mc Master Carr", "McMaster Carr", "Mc Master Car" and "McMaster Car" in the title only line, all individually and everytime I got a ton of thread results, none of which had the words Mc Master Carr in any of them. I was just wondering if I was doing it wrong or if the search function still has a glich in it from the new site changes. Anyway thanks for the tips guys.
