Detroit to South Carolina. We left Friday evening, and got home late Sunday night. I'd do it again for the right deal. I picked up a square in WV this year, too.

That one needs a little more explanation....

Sure does. Basically got a asshole border cop, and it was 2:00AM. The guy had nothing to do so he decided to investigate my purchase. Long story short he rifled through our stuff inside the car, found a receipt for my cash withdrawl and charged me for declaring a ski improperly.

An extra $350 ontop of the $350 duty I already paid and I was on my way with the ski.

I wasn't coming home empty handed, and it was a $3000 ski, so my choices were leave the ski at the border (I'm out $3000) or pay $350 (I'm out $350).

Just another govt cash grab. And power tripping cops. The guy took my wallet off me and dumped it onto the ground.... Ridiculous...:grumble:

That sucks. I paid $0.00 bringing mine into the US from Canada, something to do wih the fact that it had previously been registered in the US before it originally went to Canada. Luckily the dude I bought it from still had the bill of sale from Florida. I showed it to the border guy, and I was good to go.

Except for the fact he asked me at least four times..."So, you drove from Boston to Canada in the middle of the winter to buy a jetski, is that correct?" :lmao:
