How fast does your JS go?!

43.6 mph - 440 Harry Klemm 92 Octane Hammer kit, JD intake grate, stock ride plate mod according to Cliff Jones
Changing to a 701 engine in a Kawasaki 440/550 is not worth the effort.

Honestly it was not very hard to install my 701 in my 550. The RHAAS conversion kit was plug and play. A tiny bit of grinding in the engine bay for the bed plates. Detailed instructions. Did have to run a smaller battery to make the kit work with a stock pipe.

If you already have a rocket ship 550 or 440 then maybe it isn’t worth it. But I doubt any 440/550 pumped boat has the thrust out of the hole I do. Past that I’m not sure what it takes to make a Reed motor have 76 hp but I’m sure if you did it would not be as reliable and long lasting as a stock 701.

Either way I would recommend it to anyone because I think it is awesome.

Pushing close to 80 hp in my Yamasaki. Don’t have any radar numbers but it walks away from my stock super jet and my jet maniac/ blue 718 square nose with all the goodies.
Maybe back in the day when PJS was around or the other big company’s with there fuel injected basket cases they would be faster! There is no replacement for displacement. 701 with a 750 pump and hold on! And you dont have to bring a tool box and jets etc to ride for the day! Just my $.02

What kind of the top speeds are y’all seeing and what setup are you running? Currently the Yamasaki is running about 47 with a stock 62t 701 and a 10/16 hooker in my 140 pump.
Is that 140 pump a good upgrade? Did you run it with a 550 pump before or just the 750 pump? I have a 701 in my js550 with a 19* prop it runs great but I have debated the 750 pump swap.

Well that was the next question I was going to ask. Sexpanther and 1970Camaro and fastgtfailane et al, assuming I would convert my 550sx pump to a 750 pump, would you recommend a Kawasaki 750 engine swap or a Yamaha 701 62t or 61x engine swap?

I tried a 20” prop in a 550sx pump that worked for another member but the Yamaha just spun it
The pump swap works awesome for me. With something higher than my 9/17 I would be easily over 50+
Can certainly pull it!

Dr. Braap: Well so far you are the undisputed winner. If you did a build thread on it here, would you mind linking it? If not, do you mind if I ask what you installed?

https://instagram.com/p/CLASjWSA96g/ Vid clip here of radar run. This was with a "Freestyle pitch" on the prop. I've been wanting to up pitch and see if it will break 60.

Whichever platform you want to wrench on is what I would say. Any of those motors are solid and can be built up. Seems like 701 has the highest ceiling.

49 and quick! Solas 13/16-3mm stock pump bored nozzle. 718 mild porting 195psi. Maniac prepped 38's. B pipe.

I love this setup so much that I will probably never even change at this point.
