Super Jet How long should you wait

I have had a part on my ski causing grief for over 6 mths now and I am still waiting for it to be returned so I can ride my ski.
The entire summer is pretty much gone now.
I know if it was a customers engine I had built they would have cracked it along time ago.
How long do you guys think is an acceptable time to wait for warranty on a $500 part

If it was in within the warranty period when it failed then then you should not have to wait unless of course they don't have it in stock. What I have seen is that the manufacturers
normally do one or two runs per year and they do the runs to have them in time for the biggest demand period. If you happen to be in summer when they are in the middle of winter it could take a little longer. What upsets me is when they sell the product to new customers when they have warranty replacements that should be first.

Well they have still been selling the product while I have been waiting. So im guessing they still have them in stock.
Im quite annoyed by the whole thing

I hate to say it but after about 1 month, I'd be on the phone constantly. After 2 months, it's time to start being nasty to them.

30 days and then I would go into full wig out mode on them! That is what sucks so bad about our hobby/sport, it is such a niche hobby/sport that everyone knows everyone and if you piss someone off it could hurt you on down the road and all the businesses know that and therefore think they can pull crap like this.

For instance, I love MSD ignitions and their sales dept is awesome, their tech department is awesome, but their warranty department sucks azz. How many times does a controller take a complete chit? Not very often! So you send them a controller that has a intermittant issue and only loses spark after 45 minutes of run time, they test it for 10 seconds and call it good and return it to you. (and yes you included a letter in the box with a very detailed explanation of what occurs).

Hope you get it worked out.

Yes Jared is talking about EPIC. We had some issues with units in Australia and a few others this is well documented and there is a thread on Oz freeride in relation to this. Jared's particular unit will be with him some point next week, this unit was turned around within 2 weeks of receipt and shipped back. Unfortunately due to the Christmas break and UPS in Oz (completely out of our control) there was a long delay from collection to us receiving the package.
Jared we are sorry you have had a delay it really was out of our hands we assumed that you would be talking to Leigh as you bought it from him, we have always been easy to contact and always answer the phone or e-mails.

hey Gil, welcome home, its the usual suspects here. lol. i sent back a msd brain and got a new one back very quickly. the thing to remember if you got your paperwork to return an msd is to connect all the wires on the brain together and pplug it into the wall outlet. make sure there is no way that sucker is ever going to test fine.

so is this epic brain fixed? or replaced with a new unit?

Glad to see the "accused" post up to explain even though your name was not brought up yet. This was the right thing to do in my opinion! As for waxhead, I would be frustrated to no end after 6 months as well. At least it looks to be going the right direction now.

it is good to see, but yeah 6 months is crazy. i hate waiting, as do most people. i would think that if i ordered a new epic i could get it in 4-6 weeks. not 6 months.

And that is another problem with our sport/hobby. We all want instant gratification. We work our azzes off saving money to buy whatever the hot new part of the week is and when we finally have the money we want the part of the week YESTERDAY!!! When Paul built my Lamey I bought my crankshaft a plane ticket so it would be here in 7 hours!!! lol

d-roc you could have one next day as i stock them here

Ive had many shipments from Air Time Products via UPS and UPS arent the best, we have experienced some issues, ATP have come through each time replacing parts that have been damaged or lost by canadian customs

I waited for over a month and opted for a refund

If I waited 6 months to take care of a warranty part then I would expect somekind of backlash on the internet

yeah i realize that steveUK but i still think that if i made the order thru atp i would still see it within a months time. not 6. shipping sucks. returning stuff is even worse. It is good to see that ATP is looking after their customers, i think i would have just sent Jared a new epic to get him out on the water while waiting for his broken one to return. but sounds like there may have been a 3rd wheel in the deal.
