I'll make this detail short and sweet:
For all you solo riders, please take a second to think about all the possibilities of things that can happen on the water, is it worth it? Only takes a split second.

And if that ain't enough, please review the lost jetskier in holland thread and the what really happened thread. The water is dangerous, even with a buddy something can go wrong and it can go wrong quickly!!! We need to learn from our mistakes, and in my opinion, solo riding is just asking for trouble.

I ride solo most of the time but a couple buddies are either out on boats or couches. Wish more people would ride. out at the lake. 26 here and at the age where others are getting married, poppin out kids, or are stuck in a mental routine and don't wanna try something new. I just wanna stick a barrel roll.

When solo I only try the potentially dangerous stuff when there are others within a short distance that can see me should something dumb happen. obviously not a guarantee but better than being the only one on the water.

I would say hang onto them. they're paid for. so long as you enjoy it, ride it. never know when interest will spike again. or a cool chick comes into play.

Most of the tme I ride solo its just too hard to get people to meet up with me. The only t ime its a group thing for the most part is when vol navy starts in September when all the big boats ride to the ut games. We get people from Kentucky and north Carolina for those few games until it gets too cold.

Since no one answered. Don't you feel weird going to the lake to a packed day area by yourself to ride? Riding solo is not that unsafe at the lake I go to when not camping. It's a mile long and 150 to 170yards wide. The one long side has cabins and the campground/day area.

Most of the time I have that random person that shows interest in my skis and we will end up hanging out until one of us leaves. I usually ride in a cove or at the end of the lake so people can see me.

KEEP THEM!! i ride solo almost exclusively. call me crazy, but theres no feeling in the world like the wind and the water in your hair. Im 36, and my kids are finally old enough to ride, and WANT to ride. a new superjet is probably going to find a home on my trailer next summer so ill have 2 boats. ...yes its always more fun with others, but i would never NOT ride 'cause my friends are squids ;)

its never hits in just a few weeks . I have owned and sold over 5 skis in 3 years and have sellers remorce for all of them. I had to sell my last ski to pay off bills and I wish i would have sold every thing else I own now instead. in the last 3 years the market has changed and all the old skis that where laying around have been bought and fixed up. you could have got a trailer with 3 stand up skis on it here for under $500 but now the same skis alone are $1000 each. that was the cheapest way to go and it made it easy to get people interested in the sport if i could tell friends that they could get a ski and be on the water for under $600 and then help them with rebuilding carbs or tuning. you could find a ski that had spark and compression for $100 and rebuild the carbs and take it to the lake the same day. I sold a ski that i paid $600 for and now you cant buy the same type for under $1200 here. it just makes it hard for the lower midle class people to ride period. not to mention you guys that ride newer skis that have over 6 grand in a rec ski. so I have learned if you have a nice ski never sell it because if you do a year later you cant even buy one for what you sold yours for and you will want to ride again.... one day.

I was on the lake once and ski broke down. I was waving frantically at passing boats and none of them stopped for me. 1 of them was even my buddy's girlfriends parents. I herd later on that they thought I was waving good by to them as they left for the dock. WTF. Morale to this story don't count on people you don't know to save your life. Even The ones you do know rarely are paying any attention to you.

used to be 5 or 6 of us out there riding 2 or 3 times a week but now i'm the only one left so have not gone out in almost 2 years .maybe this summer.who knows!
they either moved or sold because of lack of $$.

Every chick worth keeping learned how to ride with me, my wife was clearly the best choice when she learned how to sub and turning sub (all my riding buddies quit riding)
Gave her a Rickter EVO this year for her birthday, 19 years together!

Second point is, if you can't get a girl topless on a beach with a jetski you have no game!

this awsome sport is making a comeback.... dont lose faith. riding standups is a skill that only about 37% of peeps can accually do. im thinkin about buyin my wife a Spark so i have wakes..... just sayin :)

I ride solo a lot. I usually just practice hard when I ride alone. Near where I launch.

I have a bunch of skis. And a boat. It's usually pretty easy for me to find people to go out. It's just hard to find peoe with actual riding skills. Or people who don't break te skis or kill batteries.

Don't ever sell your toys. Ever. He who dies with the most toys wins. I thought every guy knew that?

Then your kids sell all your stuff and buy video games.
