Harsh indeed. At some point we all need to hold ourselves accountable for our own actions.
So, why weren't you crying for a new hull for the last 3 years? Now you lose it, and you want it replaced?!? Here's a solution. Buy another hull, and Steve will paint it.

Since I am in business for myself and have been for over twelve years, I will speak up here. When you fawk up a customers ski you do whatever you can to make it right, excuses and halfassed lame attempts don't cut it. The attitude of the customer is usually directly related to the service he receives, give a customer bad service he is going to have a ty attitude, you can damn well bank on that one, treat a customer right and he will tell every one of his friends where to take their ski to get it fixed. Do a customer wrong and he will tell anyone that will listen where not to take their ski. Claiming that a customers attitude is getting in the way of fixing their ski is a cop out, its BS and those here with half a brain know it.
Bingo...........
I think Chick might have been somewhat satisfied had Steve just said "dude, I am really sorry. If you decide to get another hull I will give you a deal or a deal on a hood kit if you just go with an OEM hull.
The bottom line here is is that there was a point that the problems on this ski could have been repaired, an unhappy customer could have been made into a happy one and he would have probably told everyone that the ski builder was a stand up guy, that is all lost now, there is no chance to fix the problems this ski had, I can see where an argument could be made that the problems with the ski led to its demise, this is a loss for everyone involved , both the buyer and builder.
Now that's funny right there because I did tell Chick ,when he called last Monday , that I was sorry that he had lost his ski... but I didn't know that he was asking for a discount on a new hull or parts!...now that would of been another story!
Actually, I am the one that just mentioned a new hull or parts. Just a hypothetical comment. I cannot speak for Chick.
..but instead, his idea of getting me to do something about it was to go out of his way and pay to get a custom waterlogged factory sticker on his hood...WTF kinda childish crap is that??
Stock hulls have nose foam, so it's pretty reasonable to think that you would be able to install it in your own WCF hull, along with all the other RN parts used to make it run. You obviously know that your hull (along with nearly every RN hull) takes on water, yet you didn't do anything to seal it up.
I have wanted to go waaaay out on a limb all day and have not until now...........
Let's think back to the Pete Rant thread for a moment............
Now that we have done that, we all thought it but never said it out loud, had a certain PWC business just said 'hey Pete, you are right and I am sorry' (wether Pete was right or not), the final outcome would have been much different for all parties concerned!!!
So, what's your point? Are you saying that your ski sank because of something Steve did? You think someone owes you a new ski? That's what insurance is for.

I don't care how well anyone seals their bondline or bulkhead, because the beating these hulls take will eventually break the seal, and water will get in.
My carbon hull sank and I was a man, tied myself to it with the limiter rope. Guess what, I'm still riding it. If I'd lost it there would only be myself to blame.
