How much water is acceptable to take on in a stock 2013 Superjet?

Hey guys, bought a stock 2013 SJ over the winter and was only able to ride it for about 15 minutes when I bought it and ran great. After taking the hood off though after running I did notice maybe an inch or two of water in the bottom of the hull. I know it was dry before I started. I have noticed the hood seal is a bit misalinged, culd that be the problem? If not what else should I look at and is this normal to take on a little water when riding. Defini9tely not flooding or anything, but just wanted to check with the experts.

it could be coming in through the midshaft. Most people install the midshaft with silicone to keep it from leaking. It could also be your bilge is not working at 100% or is clogged etc.

I have 3 superjets and there is always some water in the hull after riding. An inch or two of water is not abnormal (for me). I do have bilge pumps in each... in my opinion, a bilge pump is really a necessity

describe the 15 min of riding.. was the ski right side up the whole time your riding it or were you falling off and ski on it's side half to most of the time which 1"- 2" of water inside the hull is about normal. In order for the OEM auto siphon to work, the ski needs to be at cruising speed and it doesn't work fast like a electric bilge pump.

Yea I was right side up most of the time but did tip it over a bit when stopping or an occasional fall. Again I was riding ine arly December in TX and had a wet suit but was trying not to get real wet if possible. It is warming back up now so the next time I take it I will idle it on the hitch hauler and watch to see if any water is coming in with the hood off. I just did not know if something was wrong with it or not. The ski ran perfect and got I would say in the low 40 mph range or so.
