How should I spend $250

I've got my old jet dynamics plate you can have.

Definitely the msd or ATP epix cdi. modding the stock cdi only changes that rev limit. Changing the timing to about 24 is a key advantage of the aftermarket cdis.

Thanks, I'll try it out this summer, and we'll work out a deal if I decide to keep it. I think I'm going to try modding my CDI to remove the rev limiter. I feel wary about purchasing a used MSD, and that was all that was in my price range. I bought some new grips, a new gas can, a cold fusion turn plate, risers, PWR.com sponsons, custom reg numbers, and new decals for this season.

That all sounds like a good start, making the ski handle well and be comfortable to ride is just as (or more, in my opinion) important than adding HP.

A new msd for a 61x is 285$. When you add rpm, you need more fuel and timing. The stock curve can't keep up above 7100 or so. And you aren't getting hotter spark with the OEM cdi.

My understanding is that the 6m6 rev limit is significantly lower than the 61x and 62T. I can feel it when I go WOT and the ski just fails to accelerate further. Eventually, I will get an AM CDI, but just not this season.

i would just keep it and wait to find a VXR for cheap for the motor, i did the same thing and ended up finding a vxr pro for 100$ and the motor was perfect and have had it in my sn
