How to change to my 62t cases?

Always just this close
Hello all, I have a set of 62t (from a 760) it contains a frozen crank.
What do I need to use this case? I have yamabond and a good 650 crank.

I have never done this so if there is a step by step out there, that would be great. Or if someone writes a quick in thats cool too.

Should I attempt this or shouldI just get it done professionally and get riding already?

my ski has been off the water WAY too long.......lucky for me florida riding season is yr round

Thanks all

remove all the bolts on the bottom case.

there are areas built into the cases to pry them apart.

seperate them, remove the crank, clean the cases, inspect for cracks, make sure sealing surface is clean and free of cracks.

install crank, be mindful of the dowel pins that locate the bearings and seperator things.

make sure cases mate FLUSH before trying to tighten bolts.

put your yamabond or whatever goo on the surface all the way around.

torque to specification, ad cylinder and then go ride...

yup, all came with the 760 parts but last time I lined up a dual carb in my SN, the hoses got in the way, how do you fix this?

I'm assuming you still have the stock inner liner in your SN hood. With the 62T the carbs interfere with the hood hoses, if I remember correctly for very temperately I removed the hood hose. But I would strongly suggest doing a yamaslut hood mod, in conjunction with running the stock flame arresters or aftermarkets with outterwears.

maybe 2 hours of shop time?
total guess.

the thing is, MOST shops wont touch a used crank, they will either charge enough to cover doing it twice, or insist that they will only install a NEW crank ( from them for sure $$)

you can do it man, it isnt hard.
