how to get my head shinyy as bro?

Hi

id like to polish my head, exhaust mani and maybe intake and plate if i dont paint it

cheers, i wanted a technique since its an ocean pro head

So you don't look like a dummy remember Google is your best friend....

Go to Lowe's and get a stitched cotton buffing wheel to fit on a 4 1/2 inch grinder and buffing compound sticks then put some on the wheel and go to town on it. Be very generous with the compound never keep buffing with a dry wheel.

You will not get a mirror polish being that the surface is not glassy smooth but it will look similar to chrome if done right.

And make sure you strip all of the paint before attempting to buff!

The 6 inch bench grinder/buffer will be a much better option but the angle grinder will work (11,000 RPM is a little too fast for buffing though). WD-40 is the best stuff in the world!!! This kept my neglected Js440 ebox going for so long.....

Good for adding a quick 50 bucks to the selling price of your ski too LOL

i used to be a polishing guru. sand everything with finer and finer sandpaper before you ever hit it with a polisher and compound. if you dont sand out all the scratches, it takes forever to get a mirror finish. to polish, you want low RPM or it burns the aluminum. my baldor 1hp buffer turns 1800rpm. i once hillbillyd up a 7hp motor to polish. it would jerk parts out of my hands and fling them across the shop and into the wall...........

Ryan is constantly giving me a hard time for not having my stuff clean and nice. It's really not the hard to wipe it down.

Thinking about it now it is not. But when you get home after dark and are exhausted from riding all day, wife bitching that you are home late etc do you really want to wipe down your engine.

I honestly have no idea what that would be like. My wife helps clean up then cooks dinner as I wash down both skis however I feel like doing it.
